GTC Elementary School Career Day
Recently Floor Leader Joseph Camacho was invited to speak to a class at GTC Elementary School for Career Day.  “I always enjoy talking with students” stated Floor Leader Camacho  “When I asked the students what careers they wanted some wanted to join the police force to serve and protect the public, others wanted to be lawyers or be in the medical field.  Some students wanted to join the military and others wanted to be professional athletes.  One student knew exactly what she wanted to be, she wanted to be an Occupational Therapist.”

“The students asked lots of questions about different careers.  I shared some of my own experience as a police officer, lawyer, and a congressman, and even told stories about the time I was working as a pizza delivery man to put myself through college.  I encourage all of the students to study hard and stay in school and never give up on their dream.”

Floor Leader Camacho’s postscript:  I looked it up on the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics website; Occupational therapists may work exclusively with individuals in a particular age group or with a particular disability. In schools, for example, they evaluate children’s capabilities, recommend and provide therapy, modify classroom equipment, and help children participate in school activities.

I say to all students: “Dream and dream big and with the blessing from God and Hard Work may all your dreams come true.”
